A ~ Z of Marvelousness: L is for Lego

Lego

  • Lego originated in Denmark and is an iconic toy brand with a huge following.
  • These are called Lego Modular Buildings - the "Grand Emporium", "Palace Cinema" and "Town Hall"  - hundreds of little blocks - built by a marvelous 10 year old.
  • The minifigures are waiting for the mayor to make a speech...

  1. I love looking at models built from Lego and pictures of Legoland. It is such a creative tool for children (and adults!)

  2. I loved when my children were young and we built with Legos. I think I had more fun than they did.

  3. How cute. My son loved legos, played with them for years, until he didn't:(

  4. Lego's sorta came on after my daughter's time, so we really never got into; but my 3 nephews did and I bought plenty of them for Christmas gifts. Can't believe how expensive they've gotten. Used to just buy packages of the blocks, now you have to buy a particular thing.

  5. Wow! Tell your ten year old, great job! My 6 yr old used to be obsessed with Legos. From 2 on, it was the only thing he wanted for birthdays or Christmas. (I think we have a future architect or engineer on our hands.) Such a great toy, and as I scrolled down, your photography is beautiful! Looking forward to more of it.

  6. That is quite a building for a 10 yr. old! Amazing!! That child will definitely become a builder one day! I think Lego's are amazing and stimulate creativity in children. Great post, and thank you for sharing!! www.sandysanderellasmusings.blogspot.com

  8. I have to agree with Sue at SassySpeaks, but as a mother of boys I know how many Legos I've picked up, stepped on, vacuumed up, etc. Ready-made avoids all that for mommas. :)

  10. Thanks for stopping by my K is for Kindle post. I was really hesitant to get one as well, but I found a great deal on eBay and couldn't resist! That African poster hangs framed in my office right now and I'm working on getting a tattoo artist to create me something similar.

Great idea with your photo blog. My little lego men were often my favorite pieces to play with.

  11. Didn't I hear that Lego had actually built a real hotel for people to stay in?

  12. What an awesome L! I adore Legos. I think my favorite lego creation of late has to be the woman who built a scale version of the actual Hogwarts (i.e., not the one that Lego created). It was amazing.
